arin aspires to influence the field of educator training and development through high-quality teacher development.  By providing differentiated coaching that has an immediate and long-term impact on teachers and students, and equipping teachers with mindsets and skills for sustainability in their role, Karin has shaped the way teachers and leaders see themselves having an impact on student achievement.  Karin also strives to develop personalized coaching plans that drive teacher development and specialize in supporting our elementary cohort in professional learning and coaching. 
 
Karin attended the University of Arizona where she obtained a B.A. in Creative Writing and English before relocating to Houston to join Teach For America in 2009.  She taught elementary school and founded the cheerleading squad on her campus in the East End for 4 years prior to joining the Teaching Excellence team.  Karin was accepted as a Leading Excellence Fellowship in 2015-16 at YES Prep is the Elementary Content Team lead.  Karin plans and develops elementary professional learning and works with other elementary coaches to streamline development for coaches and teachers.  

 

As a certified Myers-Briggs (MBTI) practitioner, Karin utilizes her knowledge of personality types to differentiate coaching and professional development on teaching practices, teacher sustainability strategies, and student learning styles.

 

Karin enjoys being creative and innovative in and outside of work.  Her interests include art, painting, nature, camping, and an eclectic mix of music.
